The Minneapolis-St. Paul area, collectively referred to as the Twin Cities, is renowned for its cultural and recreational opportunities and especially its beautiful, rich natural environment. Each season offers ample opportunity to explore the natural world in a variety of contexts. Twin Cities' parks and lakes are numerous with 136,900 acres of parkland and 950 lakes in the metro area alone. Hiking, fishing, swimming, golfing, snow shoeing, boating, or evening walks around Lake Harriet are all popular and accessible activities for any visitor. With seven public airports in the region, The Twin Cities is a transportation hub easily accessible from anywhere in the world. This area is the number one charter flight origination point in the nation.
Due to the cold winter season in Minnesota, heating needs are a real concern. SunMaxx Evacuated tube solar thermal collectors are specifically designed for the colder northern climates. Even in the dead of winter, even when temperatures drop to below freezing, they allow you to use solar energy to make hot water. The SunMaxx TS20 and the SunMaxx TS30 are examples of evacuated tube systems. These thermosyphon systems require no pumps or electronics to operate. Simply install one for your home, facing the system to the south, to reduce your dependance on fossil fuels while enjoying free hot water.

Operational Basics of a Solar Thermosyphon System:
Through the process of natural convection, hot water rises and cold water sinks. This process is an integral factor in the operation of a Thermosyphon System. Cold water sinks from the storage tank at the top of the unit into the evacuated tubes. In the tubes, the cold water is heated, rising back up into the tank as it increases in temperature. Throughout the day, all of the cold water within the Thermpsyphon System will be heated in this way.

Silicon Solar offers a number of seminars throughout the year to assist homeowners, small business owners, and renewable energy dealers and installers in learning basic and advanced concepts and techniques for Solar Electric (PV) Systems, Solar Thermal (Hot Water and Hot Air) Systems and Wind Energy Systems.
These seminars and workshops are designed to help newcomers to the renewable energy field get a basic or even advanced understanding of the various renewable energy options that are available and how these different systems can be applied, at home or around the office, to save hundreds or even thousands of dollars a year in energy costs. These seminars are also an excellent way for renewable energy dealers and installers to stay up to date on the latest renewable energy equipment, news, industry trends and sales techniques.
Silicon Solar Seminars are beneficial for anyone interested in renewable energy, regardless of their knowledge level. Even those who have only heard the words solar energy, wind energy, or solar hot water will leave our seminars with an understanding of how renewable energy will help them save money, how these same systems can help save the environment, and what renewable energy options are available and affordable on any budget.
